Welcome!
Since October 2023, I am an Interim Professor of Political Science at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg substituting the Chair of International Relations. Otherwise, I am Akademische Rätin auf Zeit (eq. to non-tenured Assistant Professor/LEcturer) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (currently on leave). I am also the Principal Investigator of the subproject "Social Constructivist Approaches to Confidence Building and Verification" in the context of the research consortium VeSPoTec, funded by the BMBF.
Furthermore, I am a member of the Institute of Development and Peace (INEF) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, an affiliate researcher at the Peace Research Center Prague and a member of the research network "Rethinking Nuclear Deterrence", which is funded by Harvard University and the MacArthur Foundation. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt and a visiting researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Nonproliferation. I earned a Ph.D. from the University of Frankfurt.

Research Interests
My research interests lie at the intersection of peace and conflict studies, International Relations and security studies, with a special focus on global norm dynamics and processes of contestation as well as the governance of nuclear weapons and nuclear disarmament. Methodologically, my work is informed by qualitative-interpretive research methods. My work has been published in numerous academic journals, including Contemporary Security Policy, Daedalus, International Studies Review, Review of International Studies and Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen. I am the author of Rogue States as Norm Entrepreneurs: Black Sheep or Sheep in Wolve's Clothing?.
Besides research, I am also a passionate teacher and I enjoy debating and challenging my students to think critically. Sharing my research with the wider public and knowledge transfer are key aspects of how I see myself as a scientist.
When not working, I love reading, yoga, and spending time with my family.
